Abstract : Social network analysis is a process of analyzing networked structure using graph theory. The components of social network are node which refers to people or things within the network, and edges or ties which show the relations between the nodes. It is used to study, understand and visualize the relationship in social networks. Roget Thesaurus is a book which has collection of words which are grouped according to their synonyms and anonyms. It provides a list of synonyms or verbal equivalent to understand one's intention or precise meaning but it does not give definition to words. The words are considered as nodes and are connected as network according to similarities in the meaning of the words. In this paper, we analyzed different measures like isolated, density, degree, hierarchy, reciprocity, transitivity, constraints, betweenness, closeness and faction of embedded methods using the dataset Roget Thesaurus. Instead of individual node, we analyzed the social structure of nodes in a network. This helps in understanding the words that are most related to other words, new words etc. It also shows how well the categories are connected in the network and which categories are most referred.
