Development of Lab-on-a-Chip for the Early Detection of Cancer in Women

A method that is specific and reliable for detecting cancers at early stages and at an affordable cost is of utmost importance as it can function as a first-line guidance. Due to the high prevalence of breast, cervical and ovarian cancer in Indian women our aim is to develop a device that can detect these three cancer’s at an early stage. A lab-on-a-chip device, which integrates sensors that can detect the above mentioned cancers, will be highly pragmatic due to portability, simplicity of use and affordability. The high sensitivity of these immunosensors is achieved through the use of multiple signal amplification strategies. Further, this proposed technology can be employed for the mass screening of the population
