Bridging Cognitive Sciences and Technology

Block Image

Have you ever wondered if learning technology or AI can genuinely think? Or if an AI tutor can feel compassion? Or who adds thinking, intelligence and social behavior into the Robot?

Human cognition is a remarkable process that enables us to perceive, comprehend, and interact with the world around us. This interdisciplinary program provides students with a deep understanding of cognition and behavior from interdisciplinary perspectives ranging from computer sciences, AI, psychology, anthropology, philosophy, learning sciences, and neurosciences, offering a comprehensive curriculum that includes exposure to state-of-the-art research methods and tools.

Guided by our chancellor, Shri Mata Amrtianandamayi, we strive to pursue questions of how to design learning environments that not only cater to academic needs such as technical know-how and evidence-based knowledge but also address mental health, civic responsibility, and values such as gratitude and awareness of one’s role in society.

Our aim is to study the human mind to understand the cognitive and social processes and behaviors within learning environments to design inclusive, equitable, and quality learning ecologies for everyone.
