Pharmacy Practice is the discipline of Pharmacy which involves developing the professional roles of pharmacists.

M. Pharm. Pharmacy Practice (Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy) offered at Amrita aims to equip the pharmacy professionals with the required skills, attitude and knowledge to become a practicing clinical pharmacist and mould him as an efficient member of the health care team.

K1.Describe the etiopathogenesis , clinical manifestations and treatment algorithm of diseases/disorders

K2.Categorise knowledge of evidence based medicine, Pharmacoeconomics, Pharmacogenetics to facilitate safe ,high quality and cost effective patient care.

S1. Interprete clinical laboratory test results to select medication, to assess response to Pharmacotherapy.

S2. Proficient in prompt identification of untoward reactions to medications , their management and quick reporting to PVPI

S3. Develop skills in identifying issues /challenges in disease treatment and design interventional studies to resolve the same.

S4. Apply critical thinking skill at the bedside of patient integrating pathology, genomics, comorbidities and suggest the best line of therapy on time.

S5. Exhibit fast responding skills in answering drug related queries quoting relevant reference and provide pharmaceutical care and patient education on medication

S6. Develop skills to select the quality and economical drug therapy plan for patients

Programme Outcomes

  1. PharmacyKnowledge: Possess knowledge and comprehension of the core and basic knowledge associated with the profession of pharmacy, including biomedical sciences; pharmaceutical sciences; behavioral, social, and administrative pharmacy sciences; and manufacturing practices.
  2. Planning Abilities: Demonstrate effective planning abilities including time management, resource management, delegation skills and organizational skills. Develop and implement plans and organize work to meet deadlines.
  3. Problem analysis: Utilize the principles of scientific enquiry, thinking analytically, clearly and critically, while solving problems and making decisions during daily practice. Find, analyze, evaluate and apply information systematically and shall make defensible decisions.

Admission

Eligibility
  • Pass in B. Pharm degree from an Institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) with at least 50% marks for all the subjects of B.Pharm course from second year to fourth year.
  • Preference will be given to GPAT qualified candidates.
Selection

Selection will be on the basis of academic scores and performance in the interview.

Admission Cancellation and Fee Refund Policy
Withdrawal requests received within 30 days after the formally notified admission. Tuition fees & Caution deposit is refundable.

Rs. 5000/- as maximum processing charge can be deducted.

*Note : In the event of a student leaving midstream other than on bonafide medical grounds, the student is liable to pay the remaining fee for entire course as stated in the prospectus in order to indemnify the institution for the loss of seat.
