Overview

Pharmaceutics is the branch of Pharma studies that deals with manufacturing of bulk drugs and the other is formulations related. The Master in Pharmacy programme , approved by AICTE, follows a semester pattern and has four semsters spread over 2 years. The first 2 semesters include theory and practical sessions and III & IV semester comprises of project work. M. Pharm. in Pharmaceutics program offered at Amrita helps students to become an expert in formulation development, Advanced Formulation Technology, Pharmacokinetic Evaluations, various aspects of Industrial Manufacturing and also important aspects of Molecular Pharmaceutics & Biotechnology.

  1. K1. Outline the concepts of preformulation and the principles of dissolution and diffusion for formulation development and evaluation.

    K2. Describe drug delivery principles for drugs and biologicals for unmet clinical needs by innovative drug delivery strategies using interdisciplinary engineering principles.

    K3. Explain the development, evaluation and regulatory challenges of prototype formulations by applying pharmaceutical principles for effective drug delivery.

    K4. Outline the development approaches of nano and microscale drug delivery systems and the unique physico-chemical and biological behavior of these systems.

    K5. Explain the principles and theories of cosmetic formulations and the regulatory aspects associated with it .

    K6.Apply biopharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics principle in dosage form design of conventional, novel and biotechnological products.

Admission

ELIGIBILITY
  • Pass in B. Pharm degree from an Institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) with at least 50% marks for all the subjects of B.Pharm course from second year to fourth year.
  • Preference will be given to GPAT qualified candidates.
Selection

Selection will be on the basis of academic scores and performance in the interview.

Mess Fees Refund

This policy dated 25th January 2025 will be followed in Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi for all the courses and will remain in force for subsequent Academic Sessions until the issuance of a revised policy by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
