Under the World Bank funded initiative ‘India: e-Delivery of Public Services DPL’, Amrita’s eGovernance Analytics Platform (eGAP) project has been approved for funding to the tune of $396,000.
eGAP will provide (G2C) services for the 14,300+ schools covering tens and lacs of students, teachers and parents. The G2C services will provide detailed information to millions of parents and the community at large is able to review the quality of the school through an online participatory analytics platform. eGAP will lay a foundation for CBSE to become a world leader in implementation of ICT based governance of the entire teaching learning process and to make data driven decisions at all levels, said Chairman, CBSE, Shri. Vineet Joshi, IAS.
The analytics engine is the central component in eGAP system. It is a framework for identifying and then processing data based on various analysis modules. For example, the analysis of a discussion forum would involve identifying and detailing the scope of the forums and then applying various techniques such as natural language processing, social network analysis, process mining etc. The dashboard is the sensemaking component of the eGAP system, presenting visualized data to assist individuals in making decisions about teaching and learning.
This interdisciplinary project between AmritaCREATE and Amrita School of Business (ASB) will have a duration of 2 years. CDAC Bangalore and CBSE will be external partners. There would a World Bank constituted Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) for monitoring and guiding the implementation of the Project.
