A one-day workshop on Finance and Online Trading was organized on February 15, 2016. It was inaugurated by Sri. John Thomas, General Manager, South Indian Bank. He spoke on developing banking sector. He explained the various banking terminologies, recent trends in banking and inspired students by detailing the basic traits that they must possess for their success in education and career. Dr. U Krishnakumar welcomed the audience. Dr. A. S. Ambily, Assistant Professor proposed the vote of thanks.

There were two technical sessions. Dr. V.K. Vijaykumar, Investment Strategist, Geojit BNP Paribas, spoke on “Indian Financial System with special reference to Indian Capital Markets”. He gave an overview of Capital Markets and covered all minute details related to Capital Market. He also gave description on the Evolution of the stock exchanges in India, their working etc. The second session was a continuation of the first where in a Live Demo was arranged on Online Trading and Analysis. This session was handled by Sri. Vipin G. and Sri. Vineeth John who are associated with the online products and services’ division of Geojit BNP Paribas. They gave a chance for the students to directly purchase and sell shares, online. The Demo gave an exposure to the students on the practical aspects of online trading.
