The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in association with IEEE Student Branch, Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru campus, organized a two day workshop on Embedded System Control for Power Electronic Applications from November 10-11, 2014.
Various sessions of the workshop were handled by experts in the field of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). The workshop focused on understanding the basics of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) technology, its features, Very High Speed IC Hardware description Language (VHDL) coding and development tools highlighting their power and control applications. The hands-on sessions were conducted which provided an ideal platform for learning the development of diverse set of applications using Xilinx FPGA boards and tools.
The workshop was attended by 38 participants, which included 33 M.Tech. (Power Electronics) student participants (28 participants from Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru and five participants from Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore) and five faculty members from the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru.
