AmritaCREATE, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, organized a one-day workshop on Online Labs, a virtual laboratory developed by AmritaCREATE in partnership with C-DAC Mumbai for the students from class 9 to 12, at Kendriya Vidyalaya School, Tamil Nadu, on August 30, 2017. Forty-five science teachers from twenty-two schools participated in the workshop.
Suresh Dhandapani, staff member of AmritaCREATE, explained the project and a demo session was conducted to illustrate the performance of Online Labs to the audience. The demo session was followed by hands-on session on Online Labs, which was conducted in two batches. In the hands-on session, the participants got the opportunity to explore Online Labs in the computer lab of the school for one hour. After the training session, certificates of participation and free OLabs CDs were provided to the participants for future reference.
“It is a good experience to do project when not having the required material. Very nice virtual lab and several experiments have been covered,” commented Neetesh Kumar, Science teacher from Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Arakkonam.
“It is a wonderful site for Mathematics teachers and students. Very useful for the students to learn the basics thoroughly,” said Usha, Mathematics teachers from Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, AFS, Tambaram.
“The Online Labs programme was very useful. We can show experiments to students so that they can understand the concepts clearly,” commented Ranjini, maths teacher from Kendriya Vidyalaya CLRI, Chennai.
