The new edition of Textbook of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology (15th ed.) has once again been edited by Dr. V. V. Pillay, Professor of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology at the Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi.

The Textbook of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology is one of the most respected and referred-to texts for medical students on forensic medicine and toxicology in India.

Under Dr. Pillay’s editorial stewardship, the latest edition provides comprehensive analysis of recent developments and current trends, including several new and landmark case histories.

Dr. Pillay, with 6 sub-editors and 18 contributors from all over India, has created a text that has been lauded by many experts in the field of forensic medicine and toxicology.

Some comments from Dr. Pillay’s professional peers include –

“With spectacular updation, based exclusively on Indian research work and long lists of references at the end of every chapter, this 15th edition has metamorphosed into a comprehensive textbook of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. I have the confidence that its publication will be a benchmark in the annals of the specialty of Forensic Medicine, against which future publications on this subject will be measured, in this country. I am sure that this new edition will receive a hearty welcome, not only from the forensic fraternity, but also from professionals belonging to investigative agencies and the judiciary.”

“As usual, Prof. Pillay has come up with a wonderful new edition of his Textbook of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. The book has been thoroughly revised, with incorporation of many tables, boxes, anecdotes and mnemonics. It has multiple photographs and many recent Indian references, relevant to the present-day local scenario. Probably this is the only book in the Indian field of forensic medicine where every written word is referenced. The sincere and committed efforts of Prof. Pillay and his editorial team are there for everybody to see, appreciate and benefit from.”
