Sampoojya Swami Purnamritananda Puri, General Secretary, Mata Amritanandamayi Math, in his benedictory address captured the essence of the management education offered at Amrita through the words of our beloved Amma, “The entire world should become like one family”. He talked about how our world is divided in the name of caste, religion, gender, politics and the like, and reiterated the importance of Amma’s vision and mission—to unite the world in the name of love and compassion. Swamiji also explained the importance of spirituality and intuition—one cannot succeed in their lives without both. Swamiji emphasised once more that pure intelligence is not enough and that intuitive knowledge is crucial to success in life, again by quoting our beloved Amma— “If you can become empty, you can enjoy the beauty of fullness”. Swamiji also talked about the importance of respecting our parents and teachers, and that no one in this world is free of suffering. Suffering, problems, obstacles, hurdles, hindrances, no matter small or big, is part of life. It is nature’s way of ensuring that humanity is not lost and corrupted, a way to make us stronger. Swamiji ended his address with a beautiful message, “There is music even in silence, there is dance even in stillness, there is beauty even is ugliness, there is coolness of bliss even in the heat of suffering and it is love that makes everything extremely beautiful”.
