The first international fully online women-only Capture-The-Flag competition named ShaktiCTF was conducted as a part of the Shakti Conference (ShaktiCon), organized by Team Shakti, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s women-only cybersecurity team, on December 4, 2020.

The CTF served as a kick-starter to the four months-long event, aimed to balance the existing gender gap in the field of cybersecurity by hosting a beginner-friendly event on a women-only playground and bringing more feminine power into the field. The event had over 1500 registrations with 828 teams and brought participants from five major continents(Asia, Europe, Africa, North and South America). The CTF’s major aims include: to induct and train as many girls and women as possible into cybersecurity, expose girls and women to career opportunities in Cybersecurity and facilitate a healthy and enriching dialogue about bridging the gender divide in the industry.
