AYUDH Team, a group of enthusiastic individuals, embarked on an exciting adventure to commemorate World Environment Day. They organised a trip to Thenmala forest in Kollam, where they engaged in trekking and participated in seedball dropping event to promote a greener environment. This initiative aimed to highlight the importance of environmental conservation and inspire collective action towards sustainability.
On the morning of June 6th, the AYUDH team gathered at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and embarked on their eco-adventure. The AYUDH team actively engaged in seedball dropping in Thenmala forest as part of their commitment to reforestation efforts. These seedballs composed of seeds and red soil are a simple yet effective approach to fostering plant growth. By scattering these seed balls throughout the forest, the AYUDH members took a step towards creating a greener environment and supporting biodiversity.
The event was inaugurated by The Deputy Forest Officer, Santhosh Kumar and his team, who received mementos from the AYUDH team as tokens of appreciation. Mr. Akshay Mohanan, the coordinator of AYUDH, expressed sincere gratitude to all the participants for their active involvement in the World Environment Day celebrations. He highlighted the significance of such initiatives and stressed the need for collective action in safeguarding our planet.
The forest visit and trekking expedition organized by AYUDH on World Environment Day exemplify the organization’s unwavering dedication to sustainability and environmental awareness. Through their efforts, AYUDH aims to inspire and mobilize young people to take proactive steps in preserving our precious natural resources for the well-being of future generations.
