At the annual conference of the Kairali Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologists (KSOMP) held at Kothamangalam on the 7th and 8th of March 2015, postgraduate trainees from the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Microbiology, Amrita School of Dentistry won the first and second prizes in the scientific poster presentation session, from among a total of 23 posters presented by postgraduates from various dental colleges in Kerala.
Dr. Litu Mary Thampy, second year postgraduate trainee, won the Best Poster (First Prize) Award for her scientific poster titled “Quantitative Analysis of AgNOR counts in brush biopsies from Oral Premalignant and Malignant Lesions”, guided by Dr. Mahija Janardhanan, Professor, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Microbiology, Amrita School of Dentistry.
Dr. Aiswarya A., first year postgraduate trainee, bagged the second prize in the scientific poster competition, for her poster titled “Ezrin: A possible prognostic indicator in Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinomas”, guided by Dr. Rakesh S., Professor and Head, Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Microbiology, Amrita School of Dentistry.
