To inculcate moral and ethical values in students, a Ramayana celebration was organized by Amrita School of Pharmacy on August 13, 2014.
The significance of the epic and the importance of not being persuaded by luxuries of human life, especially by students, were elucidated by Dr. Sabitha M., Principal, Amrita School of Pharmacy. She emphasized the story of Maricha who assumed the form of a golden deer and helping Ravana to kidnap Sita.
Competitions’ such as an essay writing on the topic Pithrubakthi, pencil drawing on the theme, Sita Swayamvaram and a quiz competition based on Ramayana were conducted. Shri S. Hariharan was the quiz master for the day.
The students of all teams performed extremely well and proved that they are well versed in the great epic, Ramayana. The first prize for essay writing was bagged by Sreelakshmi of B. Pharm (2013 batch). Ashita Balakrishnan, B. Pharm. (2011 batch) won the first prize for pencil drawing. The quiz competition winning teams were of Elizabeth M. Koshy (Pharm. D. (PB) intern) &U. Aravind Krishnan (Pharm. D. (PB) 2013 batch) and Aparna R. Das & Neethu C. M. (Pharm. D. 2010 regular batch).
