Reviving the values and traditions at the Amrita Education Centers

Students at the Amrita Education Centers across India participated in Rakshabandhan or Rakhi Purnima, a special occasion to celebrate the love and duty between brothers and sisters. Raksha Bandhan in Sanskrit literally means “the tie or knot of protection.” The festival honors relationships of siblings.The festival centers on the mutual bond of protection whereby siblings pray for each other’s wellbeing. The festival is also an occasion to celebrate brother-sister like family ties between cousins or distant family members, sometimes between people who are biologically unrelated.
