The Computer Society of India (CSI) Student Branch of Amrita School of Engineering (ASE), Coimbatore, has been adjudged as best CSI Student Branch in India for the fifth consecutive year.
In connection with World Kidney Day 2016, the Department of Nephrology at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, organized various public awareness programs in Kochi, especially in schools aimed at educating teachers and parents about how to recognize symptoms of kidney disease in children at the earliest.

Dr. Nitin Vaidya, a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, USA, visited the Coimbatore and Amritapuri campuses between January 11th–13th, 2016. During his visit to Amrita, Dr. Vaidya gave two talks, held interactive sessions with faculty members and students, discussed potential areas of collaborations, and visited several research labs.
Dr. Oleg Sorokin, MD, PhD, Specialist in Human Physiology; Director, Biokvant Limited, Russia and Managing Director, National Ayurvedic Medical Association, Russia, addressed students and faculty of Amrita School of Ayurveda and gave an extensive talk on Ayurvedic Pulse Diagnsosis Based on Heart Rate Variability Analysis.
