The students of MFA (Digital Film Making) 2015 batch of the department of Visual Media and Communication, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, made a safety training video for Carborundum Universal Limited (CUMI), Kochi, an electro minerals division under the famous Murugappa Group, one of India’s leading business conglomerates.
Encouraged by Chancellor Mata Amritanandamayi, a team of staff members from the Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (Amrita WNA) were sent to the remote village of Dunda in Uttarakhand to help fix a water distribution problem. This village also faced severe scarcity of water during summer.

On the occasion of the birthday of the Late President of India Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the Young Indians network of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore (ASB) hosted a charity event “Daan Utsav” at Ettimadai village on October 15, 2016.
The Department of Cultural Education organized a day-long tour to the temple city of Madurai on 17 September, 2016. The purpose of the tour was to introduce the students to the rich cultural legacy of India through visits to important cultural and pilgrim centres. Madurai, the high seat of Pandiyan art, architecture, and culture, was chosen for the first visit, given its close proximity to Ettimadai campus.
