Young Indians network of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore hosted the first session of its “Coffee with CEO” initiative at Shradha Hall in the campus on 7th October, 2016. The program provided a platform for the students to meet the company heads in person over a cup of coffee.
Amrita School of Biotechnology’s Bioinspired robotics study titled “Using Cerebellar Architecture to Control Low-Cost Robotic Arms” was presented as an invited talk by Dr. Shyam Diwakar at the International Symposium on the Neuromechanics of Human Movement, 4th–6th October 2016 organized by University of Heidelberg, Germany.
On the occasion of the birthday of the Late President of India Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the Young Indians network of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore (ASB) hosted a charity event “Daan Utsav” at Ettimadai village on October 15, 2016.
The Department of Cultural Education organized a day-long tour to the temple city of Madurai on 17 September, 2016. The purpose of the tour was to introduce the students to the rich cultural legacy of India through visits to important cultural and pilgrim centres. Madurai, the high seat of Pandiyan art, architecture, and culture, was chosen for the first visit, given its close proximity to Ettimadai campus.
Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications (Amrita WNA) team presented research papers at the International Conference on Computing, Communications & Informatics (ICACCI ’16) held at Jaipur, India from September 21-24, 2016.

The students of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore have won the silver and bronze medals at the prestigious 20th Student Management Games (SMG 2016) – Southern Regional Rounds and South Finale held at Sri Krishna Institutions, Coimbatore on 6th-7th October, 2016.
The Colloquium, held on October 8, 2016, jogged the thinking of the MBA students of the department of Management, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru campus with respect to “How smart one has to be, once you enter a corporate world.”
B.Sc. Respiratory Therapy students of Amrita Centre for Allied Health Sciences, Kochi, won prizes for intercollegiate poster and quiz competition held as part of the 10th National Conference of Respiratory Therapists (RESCARE – 2016) at CMC Vellore held during October 6-8, 2016.
The first ever Developer Weekend was organized in Amrita School of Engineering (ASE), Bengaluru on October 1st and 2nd and for the first time a grand total of 630 student developers came together to celebrate a weekend with developer activities.
