Eleven undergraduate students of the Amrita School of Dentistry attended and made scientific presentations at the National Undergraduate Convention of the Indian Association of Oral Medicine & Radiology (IAOMR), held at Kozhikode on 16th October, 2016.
Prof. Rao R. Bhavani, Director of AMMACHI Labs, was a panellist and speaker at the Global Empowerment Summit in La Jolla, California, on October 22, 2016. She gave a talk during the session “Power of Compassion and Global Impact”.
A blood donation camp was organized by the School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, jointly with the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) on October 31, 2016.
In an attempt to raise awareness about eye donation, Young Indians of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore (ASB) conducted an “Eye Donation Awareness Campaign” at Sri Krishna Hall in the campus on October 24, 2016. Ahalia Foundation Eye Hospital collaborated with YiNet for the campaign.
On the lines of ACM Distinguished Speaker and IEEE Distinguished Lecturer programs, Computer Society of India (CSI) has unveiled its Distinguished Speaker program. CSI has recognized 50 distinguished speakers from among its membership base of over 200,000 all over India and abroad. The services of these speakers are made available to over 500+ colleges and universities in India with CSI student branches. Mr. Prashant R. Nair, Vice-Chairman and Dr. Shriram K. Vasudevan, Assistant Professor (Selection Grade), both from the department of Computer Science & Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore have been recognized as CSI Distinguished speakers.
Mr. Hemal Patel, Senior Vice President of Sophos Operations in India, visited Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus. He gave a talk to the students and faculty members about how to be successful in life and career.
Prof. Shyam Diwakar gave an expert talk titled “Computational Neuroscience of Circuit Function and Dysfunction: a Cerebellum Perspective” at the at the XXXIV Annual Meeting of Indian Academy of Neurosciences (IAN) held at National Brain Research Center, Manesar, India from October 19-21, 2016.
Amrita Darshanam – International Centre for Spiritual Studies (ICSS) in association with Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) will host a national seminar on Kerala School of Astronomy and Mathematics: Contributions and Contemporary Relevance from November 4-5, 2016 at Amritapuri Campus.
The department of Visual Media and Communication, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, organized a two day workshop on Advanced Audiography for the MJMC and MFA students from October 26-27, 2016.
ENERGON is an energy conservation week organised by IEEE PES and IAS combined student chapter of Amrita school of Engineering, Bengaluru, on October 24-28, 2016. This event was designed to inform students about the importance of energy, and energy issues and conservation in an interactive and engaging manner.
