Prashant R. Nair, Vice-Chairman, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, was selected for the international and national boards and conference committees in 2016.
During November 12th and 13th, 2016, over 2000 volunteers participated in a massive clean-up drive at Sabarimala in Kerala. Amrita volunteers have been part of the cleanup drive for seven consecutive years.
Dr. P. Ram Manohar, Research Director, Amrita Centre for Advanced Research in Ayurveda, conducted a pre-conference workshop at Ayurvedic Point, Milan, Italy, on 17th September, 2016. The workshop, held on the eve of the Third International Congress on Ayurveda, focused on: the future in tradition, the use of Sanskrit in the classic texts, and study and comments on the sutras.
Dr. P. Ram Manohar, Research Director, Amrita Centre for Advanced Research in Ayurveda, participated in three sessions on the final day of the 18th International Ayurveda Symposium, at European Akademie for Ayurveda, Birstein, Germany.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham participated in the 12th FICCI Higher Education Summit 2016, a global conference and exhibition, held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi, from 10th to 12th November, 2016. The summit was inaugurated by Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on November 10th.
ACM Student Chapter, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus and Cochin Refineries School, Ambalamugal, organized a one day workshop on Competitive Programming and Problem Solving for high school computer science teachers, on 12th November, 2016, at Cochin Refineries School, Ambalamugal.
