As part of Online Labs Training Program and Amrita Rural Tablet Education Project, Mr. Suresh Dhandapani, AmritaCREATE team member, visited different schools and villages in Telangana from February 18- 22, 2017.
A two-day event on International Day for Forest and Water – ABHIRAKSHATE, was organised on March 21 – 22, 2017, at School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus.
IEEE Power Electronics Society Student Branch Chapter at Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru, organized a seminar on “Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation for Sustainable Development”, including hands-on training, by Dr. H. Naganagouda, Director, National Training Centre For Solar Technology , KPCL, Bangaloreon March 2, 2017 at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Bengaluru Campus.
The International Conference on Nurturing Global Mental Health was organized by Department of Social Work, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, and School of Social Work, University of Buffalo, USA, on March 8-10, 2017, with dozens of speakers from all over India and the US attending.
A paper on Sakshat Amrita Virtual Labs titled, “Complementing Education via Virtual Labs: Implementation and Deployment of Remote Laboratories and Usage Analysis in South Indian Villages”, published in 2016 by International Journal of Online Engineering (iJOE), was awarded the “iJOE Outstanding Paper Award”.
The AmritaCREATE team visited different schools in Andhra Pradesh as the part of Online Labs training programme and Amrita RITE project from February 15- 17, 2017. Tenali, a city in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, was the first place visited on 15 February, 2017. Mr.Suresh Dhandapani represented AmritaCREATE.
A Forum for Aspiring Computer Engineers (FACE), in collaboration with StudyOwl, conducted a Developer Weekend on Chatbots and Progressive Web Apps on March 4- 5, 2017.
“Savishkara”- General quiz program for differently abled was organized by the Computer Science & IT Department of the School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, in association with the CSI and Samskrithi-Cultural Forum, for the Special School children was held on March 20, 2017 at the college auditorium.
An eleven member delegation from the University of Twente, Netherlands, visited Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Coimbatore campus on February 7th, 2017, to discuss potential educational and research collaborations. During the visit, Amrita faculty and delegates from Twente shared their research and academic backgrounds, held interactive sessions, and found areas of mutual interest for future collaborations.
The School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kochi campus, conducted a two-day workshop for CSIR-UGC JRF/NET and GATE aspirants, from March 17 – 18, 2017.
