The International Gita Chanting Event, initiated by Kurukshetra Development Board, on behalf of Haryana Govt., was conducted in a befitting manner at the Central Atrium of Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences on December 10th, 2016. The idea was to chant Gita across the globe at one moment in time for strength and peace. The selected 18 slokas were chanted exactly at IST 6.00 p.m., one sloka from each of the eighteen chapters of Gita.
In a colloquium held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s Bengaluru campus, on 3rd December 2016, Ramya K. S., Equity Analyst in H.S.B.C Global Research, interacted with students of Amrita School of Business, Bengaluru.

The 1styear MBA students of Amrita School of Business, Bengaluru, were treated to real time stories, motivational talks and inspirational examples. The students shared that they were inspired and recharged by the end of the colloquium.
Caliber Chest, a consulting and training company which specializes in ISO standards, Audit Management, CMMI, Lean Management, Six Sigma, Business Analytics and Risk & Compliance conducted a colloquium for the students of Amrita School of Business, Bengaluru on 30th November, 2016.
On 29th November 2016, the Department of Management, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bengaluru, conducted a colloquium for MBA students. It was conducted by the E café (Entrepreneur’s café) which supports new entrepreneurs and also helps them in networking. Mr. Sarath Nair, Co-Founder of Ignitus Events and Ms. Anjali the Global Director of E-Café, were the speakers.

Dr. K. Unnikrishna Pillai, Professor, Department of Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana, Amrita School of Ayurveda, Amritapuri, has been appointed as member for the governing body of the National Institute of Ayurveda for a period of three years.
Simna Mary Shaji of BSc Microbiology 2014-2017 batch, Amrita School of Biotechnology, Amritapuri campus, won two gold medals (Junior & Senior Level) in in the Kollam District Power-lifting Championship 2016.
