Over 100 students and 16 faculty members from the Coimbatore, Bengaluru, and Amritapuri campuses of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham visited 13 villages across 11 states in North India last month.
The collaboration between Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham’s School of Biotechnology and Tata Institute of Genetics and Society (TIGS) will focus on developing new tools to reverse antibiotic resistance in pathogens like Pseudomonas aeruginosa which have been declared as ‘critical priority’ by the World Health Organization.
Mr. Vivek S., renowned script writer and filmmaker, was invited to address the students of M. Sc. and Int. M. Sc. Visual Communication of School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru campus, on stages of ‘Film Making – From Script to Screen’ on November 14, 2018.

Two Amrita students team from the School of Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus, will participate in 36-hour Singapore-India Hackathon 2018 at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, from November 12- 14, 2018.
A group of Amritians, alumni of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, that included Ph. D. students in top universities and alumni graduated and presently working in Europe, met near Milan, Italy.
Campus Superstar was an event conducted by the music club “Musync” of the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru campus, on November 10, 2018, which aimed at providing a platform for the musicians of the college to come forth and showcase their skills, and more importantly, gain campus-wide recognition.
As designated in 2009 by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), September 25 is observed as World Pharmacist Day every year. This year’s World Pharmacist Day was celebrated with the theme “Pharmacists: Your Medicine Experts”. As part of the celebrations, Amrita School of Pharmacy, Kochi, conducted activities to honour the hospital and community pharmacists for their services to society.
