An orientation program was held at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru campus, on July 25, 2018. Around 475 undergraduate students, newly admitted for the academic year 2018-19, were inducted into the various UG programs offered at the campus, in the presence of Sampoojya Swamiji Amritageetananda Puri, Acharya at Mata Amritanandamayi Math.
The day-long program included a formal welcome to the fresh entrants through a symbolic passing of the lit lamps by the senior students. Swamiji enlightened the gathering of students and the parents on the need for inculcating essential human values and the importance of Guru in one’s life. The top scorers of each class during the semester examination 2017-18 were felicitated on the occasion. The college magazine ‘Amrita Mantranam 2018’ was released by Poojya Swamiji. Prof. Vidya Pai C., Principal, School of Arts and Sciences, Mysuru, delivered the welcome address. Br. Sunil Dharmapal, Director, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru, and Br. Venugopal, Correspondent, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru, graced the occasion.
The formal program was followed by a short cultural program. The students and the parents were made aware of the academic structure, facilities available in the campus, general rules and regulations and the expectations for the students during the academic orientation session that followed in the post-lunch session. The Chairpersons of the respective departments oriented the students on the courses they have been admitted to.
