The Department of Management and Commerce, School of Arts and Sciences, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru, conducted a day-long workshop entitled ‘Role of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation – Present Scenario’, on October 4, 2018, for the first semester students of B.Com and BBA.
The objective of the workshop was to convey the significance to necessitate the development of renewable energy sources due to the current scenario of the country. Mr. Dinesh Kumar D. K., Project Engineer, Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd. (KREDL) conducted a session on ‘How To Reduce the Use of Electricity and To Increase the Usage of Renewable Energy’.
Mr. Anil Kumar, another member of KREDL, explained the concepts of biomass, hydropower and solar power, followed by an interactive session which enriched the understanding of the participants on the technology involved and the applications of renewable energy. During the afternoon session, a quiz competition was carried out by a team of experts from KREDL and prizes (Solar Lamps) were distributed to the winners.
The students who won the prizes at the quiz competition were Sai Ganesh, 1st B. Com. Taxation, Dechamma PA (1st B. Com. Taxation, Dechamma PD (1st B. Com. Taxation), Sinchana (1st B. Com. Taxation), Tejeswi (1st B. Com. Regular), Vishnu (1st B. Com. Regular), Akshay (1st B. Com. Regular) and Mayuri (1st B. Com. Regular).
