In bringing a ray of hope to contribute to the serious problems of acute shortage of blood, a Blood Donation Camp was organized in our university on 20- 05-2022. India faces a blood shortage of 3 million units. The problem can be addressed if an additional two percent of Indians donate blood, as opened by the health experts. We need 12 million units of blood every year but just about nine million units are being donated. Our university has been religiously organizing blood donation camps every year and students and the faculty members come forward voluntarily to donate blood.

Similarly, this year also the camp was jointly organized by Sahaya Club and NSS. Seven doctors and eight supporting staff from Government Hospital, Coimbatore and volunteers from both the clubs offered their valuable services to the camp. All the people filled out online form before donating blood. After that, the program started at 9:30 am and continued till 1:00pm. Our staff and many students donated blood with proud hearts. Some of the visitors were also motivated to donate blood. One hundred and eighteen units of blood were collected in just 3 hours. The hospital also handed over the Certificates to the blood donators. This was an act of great service to humanity.
