National Pharmacy Week Celebration 2024

The 63rd National Pharmacy Week (NPW) of 2024 is celebrated with the theme “Think health: Think Pharmacy.”

Amrita School of Pharmacy celebrated National Pharmacy week 2024 with grace and vigor on 26th November 2024. The event was organized by the student members of IPA-SF AMRITA STUDENT CHAPTER under the guidance of IPA faculty advisers in the college’s 5th-floor auditorium. The program featured four main events- Honoring the Senior Pharmacists of Amrita Hospital Kochi, a Street Play, A Quiz Competition and Video-making Competition.

The guests of the event were Mr. Dinesh P. M., Head Clinical Pharmacist, Amrita Hospital, Kochi; Mr. Vinodkumar P. S., Senior Pharmacist, Amrita Hospital, Kochi and Mrs. Jyothi B.S., Senior Pharmacist, Amrita Hospital, Kochi. The Lamp Lighting ceremony was graced by the distinguished guests, Principal Dr Sabitha M., IPA- SF Faculty Advisor Dr. Lakshmi P. K., IPA-SF convener Dr. Sreeja C. Nair and student representatives of IPA-SF Amrita Student Chapter.

The inaugural address was delivered by Dr Sabitha M, Principal, Amrita School of Pharmacy. Following the inaugural address was the significant moment of honoring the esteemed pharmacists Mr. Dinesh P M, Mr. Vinodkumar P. S. and Mrs. Jyothi B.S. with a memento and shawl. The pharmacists shared their life experiences and valuable insights that inspired the budding pharmacists.

Next was the Street Play exhibited by the PharmD 4th years depicting the medicines save lives and how it has to be used responsibly and what happens if not used rightly.

The Quiz Competition took place with Ms. Sonu Benny (Ph.D. Scholar, Amrita School of Pharmacy) as the quiz master and Dr. Aneesh T. P. as the moderator. Students from all years (1st to 5th) were shuffled and grouped into teams of five- Team Cipla, Team Emcure, Team Dr Reddy’s, Team Abbott and Team Biocon. After an engaging and competitive session, Team Abbott emerged as the winners. The event concluded with vote of thanks and the celebrations came to an end with the National Anthem.
