Dr. P. Rammanohar, Research Director of Amrita Centre for Advanced Research in Ayurveda at School of Ayurveda, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, has been appointed as Member of Scientific Advisory Committee of National Institute of Ayurveda, an autonomous organisation under Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.
The National Institute of Ayurveda is involved in conducting Bio-Medical Research (Ayurveda) which includes conceptual, laboratory, experimental and clinical research. This research is being conducted at PG level research, PhD level research, intramural projects, extramural projects, self financed research, sponsored projects and through retrospective data analysis.
The Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) will play an important role in evaluating, guiding and advising the Institute in the task of directing research in the most suitable and efficient way. It will be responsible for the scientific evaluation of the research programs that take place in the Institute. It will decide the research policy, research direction and time line for projects.
The Committee is chaired by Prof. M.S. Baghel, Former Director of IPGTRA, Jamnagar and Former Vice Chancellor of Gujarat Ayurved University.
The other members include Prof. Bhushan Patwardhan, Vice Chairman, University Grants Commission, Prof. V. Ramgopal Rao, Director, Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi and Prof. R.M. Pandey, Head of the Department of Bio-Statistics, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
