Archana B. S., Arvind S., Radhesh Krishnan and Zubin Mithra, pursuing M. Tech. in Cybersecurity Systems and Networks at Amritapuri campus have been chosen to study at VU University, Amsterdam for the next academic year. The students will spend time at Amsterdam from September 2014 to June 2015.
The students have also been awarded a scholarship through the VU Fellowship Program that covers the entire tuition fee and provides a contribution towards the living expenses at Amsterdam. The program was established through MoU between VU University and Amrita Vishwa Visdyapeetham which allows students to pursue one year of studies and obtain a Master’s degree in Parallel and Distributed Systems from VU University.
Rated among the top 150 universities in the world, VU University is home to eminent researchers such as Andrew Tannenbaum, Herbert Bos and Maarten van Steen with whom the students will work closely with during the next one year.

The system security team led by Dr. Herbert Bos is among the best system security labs in the world and their research is regularly featured in top computer security related conferences across the world such as Usenix security conferences. Working with Dr. Bos is the perfect foundation for pursuing a PhD in the area of computer security. Experiencing life at Netherlands, which shares some history with India, will be an enriching experience.”
