The Department of Visual Media & Communication, Amrita School of Arts, Humanities & Commerce successfully concluded Luminance 2025, a three-day media conclave that brought together distinguished leaders from the media industry. The event provided a platform for meaningful discussions and knowledge-sharing across various facets of media.
The inaugural session began with a welcome speech by Dr. D. Harikrishnan, Head of the Department of Visual Media & Communication, followed by the official inauguration by Rejaneesh VR, Program Head, Movie World Media. Rejaneesh also delivered a thought-provoking session titled “The Art of Conversation: Mastering the Interview.”
The conclave featured diverse sessions led by industry stalwarts. Sreekanth Karikott, a UX/UI expert, conducted a session on the principles of user engagement and design. Sreedevi Jayaram, a producer specializing in TV commercials, spoke about storytelling techniques in advertising. Acclaimed film editor Shameer Mohammed shared insights into the art and craft of film editing, while RJ Raghav, a senior radio jockey, engaged attendees with his session on voice modulation and content strategies. Aleena Mariya Varghese, a digital journalist, and Ratheesh Anirudhan, Assistant News Editor at Mathrubhumi News, shared perspectives on digital journalism and news presentation in the modern era.
The conclave also addressed the impact of social media through a session led by Adv. Jay Sankar Menon, a social media influencer known for his balanced and insightful approach to online platforms. The discussions and sessions encouraged participants to reflect on the evolving role of media and technology in shaping society and individual behavior.
