A two-week ISTE workshop on Fluid Mechanics hosted by Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru, was conducted from May 20-30, 2014. The initiative was taken by IIT Kharagpur to work with Engineering Colleges in the country to enhance the teaching skills of faculties in core Engineering and Science subjects. This is the second phase of “Teach One Thousand Teachers” program run successfully earlier by IIT Bombay, under the project ‘Empowerment of Students and Teachers through Synchronous and Asynchronous Instruction’.
During the workshop IIT Kharagpur Professors delivered lectures and it was transmitted in distance mode using the AVIEW technology through internet. Faculty members attended live lectures and also attended tutorial and lab sessions. This initiative was a part of the ‘National Mission on Education through ICT,’ which is supported by MHRD. The workshop was co-ordinated by Mr Vinod M Kotebavi, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, , Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru. A total of 19 members participated.
