The Computational Chemistry Research Group ( AmritaCCG) of Computational Engineering and Networking, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore campus organized an international conference on Emerging Trends in Drug Discovery, AICAD14 from July 23- 27, 2014. The conference was co-sponsored by Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi. Amrita School of Pharmacy, Kochi and the Department of Sciences, School of Engineering, Coimbatore were the co-organizers. About 400 participants enrolled for the program.
A two day Pre-conference Training (PCT) was held from July 23-24, 2014. About 48 participants attended the training and workshop conducted by the CCRG. The workshop highlights include Computer Aided Drug Design, Pharmacogenomics, Phytochemicals and Personalized Drug Design.
T. K. Jose IAS, Chairman, Coconut Development Board, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, inaugurated the conference. Dr. D. M. Vasudevan, Former Dean, Health Sciences Campus, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi; Dr. T.
