Dr. Shyam S. Jose from the Center for Transnational Medicine, International Clinical Research Center, Czech Republic, delivered a talk on the topic ‘Non-canonical Role of Telomerase Complex in the Immune System Functions’ at School of Biotechnology, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, on November 11, 2019. He talked about how induced pluripotent stem cell differentiated intestinal tissue organoids could be used as a model to study the crosstalk between human telomerase and inflammation through the NF-kB signalling pathway.
He is an alumnus of the School of Biotechnology, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. After completing his Masters from the University of Nottingham, Dr. Shyam went on to do his Ph. D. at St. Ann’s University Hospital and Masaryk University Brno. He is currently pursuing his postdoctoral research at Cellular and Molecular Immunoregulation Group of International Clinical Research Center.
