The Department of Mechanical Engineering, in collaboration with SMC Corporation (India) Pvt. Ltd., successfully conducted the first batch of precursor training sessions for the Industry Certification Programme on Industrial Pneumatics on January 9th and 10th, 2025.
Our esteemed principal, Dr V. Jayakumar, inaugurated the program alongside Dr A. K. Hemnath (coordinator), Dr Sunil Kumar, and Dr M. Sathish Kumar.
Our mechanical engineering students had the privilege of gaining hands-on knowledge from Mr. Sasi Kumar, Deputy Manager (Training) at SMC, who delivered engaging sessions on automation, Pneumatics, sensors and controls, Kaizen, 5S, Tools of Quality, and real-time industry case studies. Supporting the event were Mr. E. Muralidharan, Senior Manager, and Mr. Haridass, Junior Manager from SMC.
The program concluded with a qualifying exam, enabling selected students to attend the advanced training program scheduled for February 2025 at Sri City.
The students found the sessions both interactive and thought-provoking, offering a glimpse into real-world industrial practices.
