The third edition of IEEE International Symposium on Education, Technology and Entrepreneurship (ISEE) 2014, the flagship event of the IEEE Student Branch, Amrita Vishwa vidyapeetham was conducted on July 27, 2014.
Prof. V. Santha Kumari, Senior Joint Director (ECS), Directorate of Technical Education, Kerala inaugurated the symposium. Addressing the delegates during the inaugural ceremony, Prof. Santha Kumari spoke about the importance of Education, Technology and Entrepreneurship.
Among the eminent personalities who graced the occasion with their presence are Chad Kymal, Founder of Omnex Inc. and Omnex Systems; Life Fellow of IEEE & IES President Dr. Hiromasa Haneda, who currently serves as Professor Emeritus, Kobe University; Dr. Sankaran K., Principal, School of Engineering, Amritapuri; 12 delegates from around the globe and participants from all over India.
ISEE 2014 witnessed a participation of 500+ students from over 30 colleges across the country. The entire event was coordinated and managed by student volunteers under the guidance of Rajesh Kannan Megalingam, Director, Humanitarian Technology Lab (HuT Lab) , School of Engineering, Amritapuri and General Chair of ISEE.
The inaugural ceremony was followed by a keynote address on Technology, Disruptive Innovation, and Entrepreneurial Opportunities by Chad Kymal.
ISEE 2014 had nine parallel tracks offering workshops and seminar/webinar on topics such as Robotics and Automation, Industrial Electronics, Signal Processing, Computer Science, Networking, Education, Bio- Inspired Computing, Embedded Systems and Entrepreneurship, handled by experts from respective fields. ISEE 2014 also offered a distinguished lecturer program on Modelling Electro Mechanical Conversion Systems by Dr. Hiromasa Haneda. The workshops provided golden opportunity for students to explore their technical abilities and avail expert help to clarify their doubts. With a wide variety of workshops ISEE 2014 opened before the students a window to learn, to aspire and experience. The Education track was set aside exclusively for school students.
This symposium served as a platform for international exchange of ideas, collaborations and cooperation among industrialists, students and academicians. The lectures helped the students to relate their theory subjects to the practical world and make their learning interesting.
