The Honorable Governor of Tamil Nadu, Shri R.N. Ravi felicitated Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore for emerging as the top-ranked university in the state of Tamil Nadu in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 rankings of the Government of India at the 3rd Conclave for Excellence in Higher Education in Tamil Nadu, held at Raj Bhavan, Chennai, on 13 September 2024. Dr. K. Sankaran, Registrar, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham showcased best practices of AMRITA such as the Live-in-Labs experiential learning program, research onboarding grants, and Amrita Shilpa Kalakshetra – center for sculpture and painting. AMRITA was represented at the ceremony by Dr. K. Sankaran, Registrar, and Dr. Prashant R. Nair, Vice-Chairman, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Coimbatore campus. Governor Ravi congratulated higher education institutions for their ongoing improvement in the NIRF rankings. The governor expressed happiness that the conclave is successfully meeting its objective of promoting a quality-based higher education ecosystem through mutual learning, knowledge sharing, and encouraging healthy competition among institutions.
