Harsh Jaitli visited our Amrita CREATE on 10th December 2022. He is the CEO of Voluntary Action Network India (VANI), the national apex body of Indian Civil Society Organizations engaged in development work. He expressed interest in hearing about CREATE’s village outreach programs (RITE), technology-enabled education initiatives (OLabs, Amrita e-learning app), digital literacy programs (AAA, UNICEF digital literacy), health simulation projects (MedSIM, MedSIM Health Workers, DiShA, AyurCeL, AyurSIM), among other projects.

Shri. Jaitli explained the need to reach people at the grassroots level with limited exposure to technology, making financial decisions, social welfare, and health schemes. Dr. PremaNedungadi, Director of AmritaCREATE, explained the impact of the Indian Sign Language project. He emphasized how civil society organizations could contribute and learn from such initiatives.

The need for digital technology-enabled technology solutions to reach the public, especially the working class, was emphasized.
