Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is proud to announce the successful completion of the Blended Learning Project, led by Dr. Bhavani Rao, Director of AMMACHI Labs, in collaboration with Dr. Ramya K. Prasad, Co-Principal Investigator and Project Manager at the Amrita Consultancy Centre for Innovative Multimedia Solutions (ACIMS), Mysuru. The project was developed jointly at the Amritapuri and Mysuru campuses by AMMACHI Labs and ACIMS, with funding from the National Instructional Media Institute (NIMI)

Project Overview:

The Blended Learning Project focuses on creating cutting-edge e-learning content for various trades in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. The content includes a series of instructional videos, 2D/3D animations, and interactive quizzes, designed to make learning engaging and accessible for ITI students. The project was delivered in eight regional Indian languages.

These videos will be uploaded to the Bharat Skills Portal, contributing to skill development across India by providing high-quality, easily understandable, and multilingual educational resources.

Project Accomplishments

  • Development of e-learning videos for Fitter, Cosmetology, Electronics Mechanic, Electrician, Welder, Solar Technician, Turner and Principles of Teaching.
  • 40 work orders or 40 hours of instructional videos developed in English
  • Videos produced in English, and translated and narrated in 8 regional languages,shared on the Bharat Skills Portal.

Key Contributions & Impact:

This project aims to bridge the gap between industry demands and skill supply, supporting the Government’s vision of a Skilled India. By providing easily accessible training materials, the project will help scale vocational education and upskill a large number of individuals across various trades.

Recognition & Scale:

The project has been recognized by NIMI for its high-quality production, including exceptional video content and 2D/3D animations. The team’s work has been showcased as a benchmark for other vendors. Amrita also topped the list of over 20 vendors completing the most number of work orders.

We also celebrate the collaborative efforts of students and faculty from the Department of Visual Communication, and the multidisciplinary team at AMMACHI labs which has resulted in the successful completion of the project. The students also gained valuable hands-on experience through this project, further enriching their academic journey and practical skills.

We are excited to see the continued success of this transformative project, which plays a key role in building a skilled workforce for India’s future.
