The graduation ceremony of Amrita School of Pharmacy was held on September 3, 2018, at AIMS B Block 3rd floor auditorium of Amrita Health Sciences campus, Kochi. The chief guest of the day was Dr. Ramesh K. Goyal, Vice Chancellor, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University. The students of 2012 batch of Pharm. D., 2015 batch of Pharm. D. (PB), 2016 batch of M. Pharm. and 2014 batch of B. Pharm. were the graduands of the day.
The program began with an academic procession of graduands, dressed in traditional attire followed by prayer and pooja by Sampoojya Swami Purnamritananda Puri, the general secretary of Mata Amritanandamayi Math. Dr. Sabitha M., Principal of Amrita School of Pharmacy, welcomed all dignitaries, invitees, parents, faculty and graduands to the ceremony. Benedictory address by Sampoojya Swami Purnamritananda Puri was really enlightening.
Sri. Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma), Chancellor of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, had sent her message to the graduands through a video clip. Dr. Shantikumar V. Nair, Dean, Research and Director, Amrita Center for Nanosciences and Molecular Medicine, delivered the presidential address to the august gathering.
The chief guest, Dr. Ramesh K Goyal, Vice Chancellor, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University and guest of honour, Dr. Chinnaswami, President, Indian Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, along with the other distinguished dignitaries lighted the lamp and inaugurated the function. Following the inauguration, the chief guest and the guest of honour delivered the speech and motivated the graduands.
A tribute song was offered to Sri. Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) by the graduands for seeking her blessings for their successful future. Dr. R. Dhandapani, Controller of Examinations, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, and Dr. Sanjeev Singh, Medical Superintendent, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, felicitated the occasion. The chief guest awarded the graduation certificates, rank medals and certificates of excellence to the students. Prof. Emmanuel James, HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Amrita School of Pharmacy, administered the pharmacist’s oath to the fellow graduates. Mr. Naveen Kumar Panicker, Assistant Professor, Amrita School of Pharmacy, delivered the vote of thanks and the programme ended with the national anthem.
