In a subject-wise analysis carried out by Stanford University in the USA, Amrita professors, Dr. Maneesha Vinodini Ramesh, Dr. Shantikumar Nair, Dr. R. Jayakumar, Dr. Madhav Dutta and Dr. N. Radhika have been cited among the top two percent of scientists in the list available on Scopus.
Stanford University researchers created a publicly available science-wide database of 100,000 top scientists, that provides information on publication citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted h-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions, and a composite indicator. In this database, the scientists were classified into 22 fields and 176 sub-fields, updated to the end-of-2019.
Prof. Maneesha Vinodini Ramesh, Director, Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications was mentioned in the Networking & Telecommunication field. With several best paper awards and as our second UNESCO chair professor, Dr. Maneesha also held the prestigious Young Faculty Research Fellowship under Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme for Electronics and IT from the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India.
Prof. Shantikumar Nair was listed among the top in the field of polymers. He was a recipient of numerous awards from the National Science Foundation, USA, and from the industry in materials research. He is the Director of our Amrita Center for Nanosciences and Molecular medicine and also received the C N R Rao India Nanosciences Award 2014 for outstanding contributions in Nanotechnology Research and Development in India.
Prof R. Jayakumar was also listed in the field of polymers. Based at our Amrita Center for Nanosciences, Dr. Jayakumar has completed more than 17 funded projects.
Prof. Madhav Dutta of our Amrita School of Engineering was listed among the top in the field of Energy. With 48 issued US Patents and over 80 publications to his credit, apart from his papers, he has authored/edited several books on Electrochemical Processing & Micro/Nanoelectronics.
Dr. N. Radhika, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore, was listed among the top in the field of Mechanical Engineering and Transports for the year 2019. Her research areas include composite materials, functionally graded materials, optimization techniques, surface modification process and tribology. She has published over 100 research papers in reputed International Journals. She has carried out the research activities as a Principal Investigator, with the support from Department of Science and Technology, Defence Research and Development Organisation and Aeronautics Research and Development Board.
