Dr. Swathy V., post graduate scholar, Department of Swasthavritta, Amrita School of Ayurveda, won First Prize in in the Third National Level Ayurveda PG Thesis Presentation Competition for Dr. C. R. Agnives Memorial Award organized by Ayurveda Medical Association of India and AMA Research Foundation in association with VPS Ayurveda College Kottakkal.
A meticulous screening for PG Thesis was implemented which resulted in an initial selection of 93 thesis from Ayurveda Colleges throughout the country by an expert panel of 21 doctors. One thesis was screened by a minimum of 4 experts.
A total of 11 finalists presented their thesis on the final competition held on 27th February 2022 at Kottackal.Final event was presided over by CCRAS Director General Dr. Rabinarayan Acharya.
Dr. Swathy V., PG Scholar, Department of Swasthavriita, Amrita School of Ayurveda bagged the first prize for the original research work titled-‘ *A Randomized Controlled Trial to Evaluate the Efficacy of Yaṣṭimadhu Ghṛta Application for Minimizing the Radiation Induced Toxicity in Patients With Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma’*
Guided by Dr. Delvin T Robin MD (Ayu), Associate Professor, Department of Swasthavritta, Amrita School of Ayurveda, Dr. K. Ramadas MD (RT), DNB, FAMS, Ph. D Department of Radiation Oncology, Regional Cancer Centre -Thiruvananthapuram and Dr. Anusree Dileep Associate Professor, Department of Swasthavritta, Amrita School of Ayurveda and the study was conducted at Regional Cancer Centre Thiruvananthapuram.
The eminent panel of judges greatly appreciated the thesis and the department for its valuable efforts. It is the second consecutive year that PG scholar from the department of Swasthavritta, Amrita School of Ayurveda is bagging the First prize in the National Level PG Thesis competition held by AMAI. Dr. Vahab R. A was awarded First Prize last year.
In 2021, Dr. Deepthi R, PG from Department of Swasthavritta had also bagged First Prize JNAANARNVA-National Level Dissertation Competition held in connection with the function to honour Padma Bhushan Dr. P. K. Warrier on his 100th Birthday. The achievement has brought in laurels to the Department of Swasthavritta and Amrita School of Ayurveda.
