Team ‘Sigaram’ Department of Mechanical Engineering, Amrita school of Engineering, Coimbatore won ‘First Prize’ in the “Fluid Power Challenge” National Level Quiz organized by Fluid Power Society of India (FPSI). The ‘Sigaram’ team consisting of 3rd year BTech Mechanical Engineering Students, Sadagana Pradeep and Lokesh Dinakaran D J. The faculty adviser for the ‘Sigaram’ team is Dr.K.Balaji, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, ASE, Coimbatore.

The ‘Sigaram’ team won a cash prize of Rs.50,000/, Research Grant of Rs. 10,000/ for Faculty Advisor and 2 months internship with stipend for Students. The Fluid Power Challenge (FPC 2023) Award for the ‘Sigaram’ team was presented on 7th October 2023 at BMS College Of Engineering, Bangalore during the ‘Fluid Power R&D Confluence (FPRD 2023)’. The award was presented to the team in the presence of Dr.G.Satheesh Reddy, former Chairman, DRDO, Scientific adviser to ministry of defense, Chairman, governing body-ADA and Mr.V.Sekar, Chief General Manager R&D, BEML.
