Starting today, the Amrita School of Medicine will host the 38th Annual Conference of the Endocrine Society of India, ESICON-2008. Nearly one thousand participants from all over India and abroad are expected to attend. The three day conference will have 85 speakers, including distinguished faculty from the US, UK, Belgium, Greece, Cuba and Australia.
Prof Stephen Shalet from the University of Manchester, UK, who is one of the most eminent endocrinologists in the world, will deliver the inaugural address. Prof Shalet is known for his critical research on the growth hormone. He is the editor of the Oxford Textbook of Endocrinology and has chaired several international endocrine research committees. This is his first visit to AIMS.
“We encourage the doctors at AIMS to attend the inauguration ceremony and the scientific program, ” said Dr. Sanjeev Singh, senior medical administrator. “The proceedings will be held at the New Conference Center. Swami Poornamritananda Puri will deliver the benedictory address.” The inauguration is scheduled for 6.00 pm on 18th December.
