During the pandemic, Social Workers along with medical doctors were at the forefront of disaster management and first aid. Consequently, and in the focus of future environmental and social challenges such as COVID, Social Work needs to be rethought and diversified further. Therefore we discussed on a large podium with the honorable Dr. Prashant Nair (IAS) Future Trends of Social Work. It was identified that the Social Work profession is one of the fastest growing professions worldwide and will need to refine its areas of operation on different levels of society. This considers many nuances within the range of grassroots level work to leadership positions in government and/or other institutions.
Furthermore during the academic year 2020/2021, the Department of Social Work conducted a series of public events addressing topics such as career consultation, leadership, communication competency and life skills.
