A colloquium on the topic ‘Learn to Lead’ was held at Sri Krishna Hall of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore, on August 21, 2018.

Dr.Sajeevan VP – CEO – ESY Tech Resources India Pvt Ltd, handled the session. Dr. Sajeevan VP spoke about the importance of feeling the desire to become a leader. He asked his audience to be confident enough to take the initiative after recognizing their desire. He said that one needs to have self-awareness, their SWOT, emotions and values. He said that people could be classified into 4 types- Lions: They maintain low profile, focus-minded and goal oriented. They possess the potential to bring the change; Grasshoppers: They are time inconsistent and tentative-minded. They hop among the goals and choices; Snails: They possess knowledge but are very slow in their methods and Headless Chicken: This kind is neither self-aware nor aware of the surroundings. They keep running hither-thither.

Dr.Sajeevan VP elaborated the supreme qualities of a leader with examples. Dr. Sajeevan told the audience to become self-aware and then proceed towards self-development. When we set a goal- we need to set realistic and achievable goals and should strive to achieve them. He narrated to us the story of how Maggi bounced back into the noodles market after the debacle it faced. He says that, in business world, when one faces failure, he needs to accept it, assess it, analyze it and then act on it.
