A colloquium on the topic ‘Back to the Saddle’ was held at Sri Krishna Hall of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore, on October 23, 2018. Mr. Sudarshan Rajagopalan, who heads the Business Navigation and Innovation at Splendour Medicare Technologies, handled the session.
Mr. Sudarsan informed the MBA students of the campus to start looking at themselves rather than focusing on others’ successes. He explained that each individual is looking for recognition in one way or the other. He said, “Most individuals are trying to copy in life and competition sets in right there.” He focused on employee perspective wherein the employee is considered last and business perspective wherein it creates opportunities to others.
Mr. Sudarsan added, “Problems should always be solved from the base level. Every failure is a base foundation for building a strong success. Everybody should recognise oneself and start looking with higher mind-set. Real life gives you both pay and skill, if we focus only on pay we cannot excel in career. Everybody has to focus to sharpen their skills to be successful in their careers. Our resistance to one subject can also be considered as a competition.” He further said, “Fear is an imaginary field, the thought process is building fear in our minds. So we need to plan the activities to reduce our thought process which will nullify fear. Try to build in our knowledge and always come to base level to solve the problems.”
Mr Sudarsan briefed about the term WAM – Walk Around Management. He concluded the session by saying, “World is a rough place to live in and even if you fall in life keep coming back to the saddle.”
