A colloquium on the topic ‘Vision for the Future of India & What’s an MBA’s Contribution to it’ was held at Amriteswari Hall of Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore, on June 16, 2018. Mr. Manickam Athappa Gounder, Managing Director, MAK Controls and Systems Pvt. Ltd., handled the session.
Mr. Manickam Attappa Gounder shared his experience on working with Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India, when he refused to bribe an officer in return for approval of his consignment. However Dr. Abdul Kalam himself paid the money and got the process done for the greater good of the county.
Mr. Manickam gave an impression of an honest and sincere businessman who never compromised on the quality of his work as well as his ethics. He spoke about his dreams and shared his vision of ‘Water for all’ & ‘Farmers’ Welfare’ and he gave his word that he would strive to convert his vision into reality. He narrated how he helped farmers to sell their stock at the valid prices by counter-conning the wealthy wholesalers who were conning the desperate farmers by offering lower prices to buy their stock.
He spoke about the developmental steps being taken to turn India into a superpower. He explained his current work towards implementing a program to supply water for drinking and domestic purposes to all homes through pipelines.
Mr. Manickam emphasized that giving back to Mother Earth is rather more important than raking in profits. He added, “Profits wouldn’t secure the well-being of the future generations but Mother Earth’s well being would.”
