Under the guidance of Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) as chair of Civil 20 India 2023, the working group on Sustainable & Resilient Communities (SRC) has launched a ‘Global Seedball Campaign’ on April 15th, 2023. The campaign is a joint initiative of the C20 SRC working group and AYUDH, Amrita Yuva Dharma Dhara. As part of the campaign, Math organised workshops for seed ball creation and distribution across the globe. These workshops were conducted in schools, universities, and other civil and social organizations, both nationally and internationally.
The Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu launched C20 Seedball Dispersing event on August 7, 2023 at Thirukanchi temple, Puducherry. Mata Amritanandamayi Math as a follow up in collaboration with the Indian Navy – Rameshwaram, INS Parundhu, Tirunelveli, INS Kattabomman and Chennai, TS Avadi Chennai and Tamilnadu Forest department dispersed the seedballs through Aerial dropping at Ramanathapuram District and manual dispersing in other parts of Tamilnadu.
More than 7000 people were involved in making this seedball campaign successfully at various places. In appreciation of their contributions to this noble work in Tamilnadu and Puducherry, Math planned for an event to distribute “Appreciation Certificate” to all the contributors especially school and college students. This concluding event was conducted in Mata Amritanandamayi Math, Madurai on February 12, 2024.

The program started with prayer and lighting the lamp with Vedic Chanting. Br. Mathrukripamrita Chaitanya and Br. Nikhileshamrita Chaitanya welcomed the guests and gathering. An introduction about the seed ball campaign was given by Brni. Bhavani. This was followed by speeches by Cadre. Nishant Kumar, Commanding Officer, INS Kattabomman, Tirunelveli, Col. Amit Gupta, GP Commander, NCC group Madurai, Captain Vikrant Sabins Commanding Officer, INS Parundu, Rameswaram, Dr. Guruswamy Kabbala, IFS, District Forest Officer, Madurai Forest Division and Smt. Premalatha Panneer Selvam, Founder Mahatma Schools, Madurai. Benedictory address was delivered by Swami Sankaramritananda Puri, Dean, Amrita School of Ayurveda, Kollam. Vote of Thanks was delivered by Sri. Srikanth. The program ended with National Anthem. More than 500 devotees participated in the Event.
