The students of B. Sc. Visual Media IV Semester of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysuru campus, attended the Trolley and Crane Workshop on March 21, 2018, at the campus. The workshop was organized by Mr. Suraj Shankar.
The real-time film production crane and trolley sets were laid and every student got a chance to use them and experience the rare opportunity of video-shooting the dolly in/out shots, pan and track shots, etc. Such trolleys and cranes are usually used in movies and for big-budget production projects. This workshop gave them a pre-industry exposure to work with x-y and z-axis. They were also trained in different camera movements using circular tracks and straight tracks. The combination shots of crane and track were also practiced by all the students along with the focus shift. Students cherished a field experience of working on 24 and 50 feet cranes. The students got complete exposure in the working style of the film industry using Crane, Track – Trolley.
